Details

The Sena A0304 clamp kit adds to the flexibility of the SMH10 Bluetooth headset system. Similar to the A0302 clamp kit's design, this clamp permits the use of your own in-ear speakers 'earbuds', plus has

This clamp has a 3.5mm audio output socket at the rear of the clamp. A coiled 3.5mm audio lead is included to permit easy connection to your earbud lead.

Like all Sena clamp kits, a 3.5mm audio input socket is provided for connection to a variety or non-Bluetooth audio devices including older MP3 players, IPods, CD players or radar detectors.

Unlike the A0303 clamp, the A0304's mics aren't permanently attached to the clamp, itself. Rather, these mics are on a long connectorized lead, permitting easy placement within the helmet. For example, the boom mic is ideal for a modular/flip helmet. The mic will affix to the inner shell of the helmet - between the shell and the liner. The long lead insures that the mic will reach in front of the mouth, where are the A0303's boom may be a bit short in some instances.

For a full-face helmet, there's another very thin mic (1/8", 3.2mm thick X 3/4", 19mm diameter) that affixes directly to the chin bar. Where you'd want to use this mic instead of the mic from the A0303 clamp kit is if your mouth is very close to the chinbar and you'd find it difficult to tuck the boom mic in front of your mouth, after donning the helmet. Also, if you're on a dirt bike, or dual-sport, this mic is a good choice.

One thing to keep in mind, is on dual sport helmets, or street helmets that have a vent in the chinbar, this may cause unwanted noise to be picked up in the microphone. To alleviate this, moving the mic a bit may help, otherwise block the chinbar vent with a piece of smooth, loop-side Velcro.
