By using custom and proprietary digital control circuits, each of these lights can produce up to the equivalent of 180 watts of Halogen light while only using 36 watts of power!
A total of three 12 watt LEDs are used in each of the lights. The housings are made from solid aluminum billet right here in the USA and are hard anodized and then powder coated for exceptional corrosion protection. Exacting assembly and quality control sets this light apart from any other light available. Using aircraft grade, silver plated wire with Teflon insulation, these lights are made to last, and endure the rigors of years of riding in any conditions.
Tough, laser cut acrylic lens covers are easily replaceable and optional Amber lenses are available. As with all Clearwater Lights, Krista is fully dimmable and can switch from a LOW beam to a HIGH beam with a flick of the factory high beam switch. The LOW setting being fully dimmable via a digital 'volume control'. This volume knob is used to adjust the level of light you desire with while running the Low beam headlights. On the lowest setting, a pair of Krista's a minuscule 4 watts of power. At a half way setting a pair of Krista's only use just 16 watts of power. And, on full 100% power, they use 70 watts of power, combined.
The set comes with easy to follow installation instructions, harnesses and hardware to mount to various motorcycles. We also have a variety of custom-fit light mounts and lights
bars for many bikes.
Clearly, There's a Brighter Way!
American designed and manufactured, Clearwater Lights are compact, easy to mount and simple to connect to your bike's electrical system. In order to maximize the full potential of HPLEDs, Clearwater uses advanced microprocessor controlled circuits to keep light output constant at a wide range of voltages. Because Clearwater uses programmable circuits to control the power, even the brightness is remotely adjustable with a 'volume control' dimmer.
What Are HPLEDs?
High Power LEDs (HPLEDs) are a new generation technology ideally suited for the unique demands of today’s motorcycles. Providing higher output with lower power consumption – dramatically increasing your level of safety and the reliability of the lights. The Clearwater Lights HPLED revolution is here! Clearwater HPLEDs easily surpass halogen lights for output and efficiency.
If your bike has limited excess electrical capacity, Clearwater Lights will provide the safety and visibility you're seeking without taxing your motorcycle's electrical system.
Halogen's Shortcomings:
- Inefficient: More than 90% of the energy comsumed is wasted in heat!
- Short lifespan: Only 500-2000 hours
- Fragile: Bulb filaments fracture under vibration
- Output dims over time: Halogen starts to lose output from day one
- Fixed output: Cannot easily control brightness
Clearwater's HPLED Benefits:
- Much more efficient: 4-6 times superior to halogen
- Lifespan: Hundreds of times longer than halogen
- Durable: No affected by engine vibration and off-road shock
- Dimmable: Safely use in varied lighting conditions
- Compact: Low profile, easy to mount
How Durable are These Lights?
Each light is either CNC machined or forged from billet. Brackets are machined from 6061 series aluminum and use durable stainless steel hardware. The internal circuit boards are actually bonded to an additional aluminum plate for strength and heat management. Surface treatments on the Glenda housings consist of both hard anodize and powder coating, providing exceptional durability.
The computer designed optical lenses are precision laser cut in Clearwater's own facility, and each lens is double sealed for weather resistance.
Why Control Brightness?
Auxiliary lights are often avoided because of the added glare imposed upon oncoming traffic - they're just too bright. But turning off these kinds of lights decreases the rider's visible "signature" for oncoming drivers, increasing the danger to the rider. Clearwater Lights let the rider easily adjust the light output to the needs of changing road conditions. Because they don’t need to be turned off, your safety is never compromised. The unique brightness control circuit uses a rotary 'volume control' to digitally change brightness over a wide range of intensity. The soft rubber knob is easily adjusted, even while wearing heavy gloves. The volume control conveniently mounts on a handlebar or in a faring panel. Can I Install These Lights Myself?
Absolutely! Clearwater has a long history of designing and manufacturing quality products that are consumer-friendly. Instructions and owners’ manuals are written with the motorcycle enthusiast in mind. On site installation is available at our Hollis, New Hampshire Technology Center.
